AIG's underwriters develop insurance solutions that address the exposures of

underwriters help to find insurance solutions for risks from a range of areas including

Financial Lines, Property, Casualty, Specialty Lines, Cyber, Multinational Clients and

What you need to know:
  • This role is an integral position within the International Environmental team requiring good communication, collaboration and interaction skills.
  • Underwrite local US policies in support of multinational business through forming strong relationships with both the wider International underwriting community and the broker community across International & US.
  • Contribute towards the profitable growth and sustainability of the International Environmental book of business and the development of multinational capabilities with regards to US exposure but also supporting growth of Latin America.
  • Support and initiate internal and external marketing and cross marketing activities.
  • Provide technical underwriting direction and be a focal point for educating AIG International Environmental underwriters on changing risk landscape within the US.
  • To ensure all business is thoroughly evaluated by peer review and that risks written meet AIG's underwriting standards and individual authority limits.
  • Manage and develop broker relationships to help deliver smooth multinational process within the US and also in support of Latin America in growing new partnerships.
  • Work with the US Environmental team to support their needs in delivering successful run-off of PLL book and management of UST book within the guardrails of underwriting.


What we're looking for:
  • Degree or higher (or equivalent) qualification in an Engineering or Environmental based discipline (preferable)
  • This role suits candidates with extensive North American Environmental underwriting experience and ideally experience in underwriting in support of multinational business.
  • Experience of underwriting or educating on Environmental risk within Puerto Rico or Mexico (preferable);
  • Strong attention to detail with excellent analytical, judgment and problem solving capabilities.
  • Sales and business development experience highly preferable.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently with strong organizational and multitasking skills
  • Excellent interpersonal skills including strong verbal and written communications.
  • Language capability to support opportunities in Latin America in local language (preferable)
  • Proficient in all Microsoft applications (Word, Powerpoint and Outlook).
  • Advanced Excel skills.
